Foot orthotics are inserts which are worn inside your shoes. The main purpose of orthotics is to support the foot by adjusting the position of your feet to improve foot function.

We can offer you a wide range of orthotics. This includes custom orthotics, heat mouldable orthotics and off-the-shelf orthotics.
Podiatry at Camberwell Road Medical Practice believe in providing our patients with the information they need to make an informed choice when it comes to orthotics.
Some of the foot and leg problems that can be successfully treated with orthoses include:
  • Corns and callous
  • Tendonopathy
  • Recurrent ankle sprains
  • Heel pain
  • Achilles tendon pain
  • Shin splints
  • Flat feet
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Knee pain (especially front of the knee)
  • Some hip and low back pain
Orthoses may be prescribed with other therapies, such as a program of stretching and strengthening exercises. These exercises will be developed by the Podiatrist in consultation with you.
